Tip Of The WeekStreamer stripping — One of the most difficult retrieves for fly fishermen is properly stripping line when fishing a streamer. For right-handed anglers after the long cast, hold the fly rod in your right hand while pointing the tip of the rod at the point of cast and make a loop with your thumb and index finger by touching them together. Allow the fly line to run between this loop made with your fingers and gently strip the line with the left hand, tightening your grip around the fly line between strips. You will have much more control over your retrieve with this method. Last Updated (Saturday, 18 February 2012 05:09) |
